Listed below is information about the new fee that went into effect September 1, 2004.
The SEVIS I-901 fee went into effect September 1, 2004. The payment website at www.fmjfee.com is operational. New students and exchange visitors with a Form I-20 or Form DS-2019 are subject to the fee. Continuing students and exchange visitors are not required to pay the fee except under certain circumstances. Students may pay the SEVIS I-901 fee prior to applying for a visa and may prove payment of the fee by:
A receipt from Western Union when using the Western Union QuickPay option
A Form I-797 receipt mailed
The student is required to pay only one SEVIS fee – not one fee per Form I-20.
